One question I get a lot is “what is the best spinner”? Ironically, the answer is in the actual question. The Best Spinner is really the best spinner. Now in the interest of being objective and fair, I will compare The Best Spinner with the next best spinner: Magic Article Rewriter. You might want to grab a cup of java or two because this review is close to 3500 words.

I know there are a number of other spinners out there, but I’ve only found Magic Article Rewriter and The Best Spinner to be actually review worthy. The other pay article spinning programs are pure crap and not even worthy to be mentioned as an alternative option.

Note that there are a few free spinners online such as JetSpinner, but the free spinners really don’t have any features like the ability to actually help you get your non-spun text into spun format.

So let’s start The Best Spinner review with a list of the main features:

A Review of “The Best Spinner Features”

Most pay spinning programs come the following: auto replace words, nested spinning ability, ability to export, some means of tabbing from word to word through the text to make spinning more convenient. In my opinion, what makes The Best Spinner so good are a few specific features that the competition lacks: a “crowd-sourced” thesaurus , a very intuitive spinning interface with multiple spinning options, and a fantastic autospinning feature. There are of course a lot of other features — use or don’t use them — but they are minor compared to the three that I pointed out.

Let’s look at the main features in more depth.

Crowd-Sourced Thesaurus

This is hands down the biggest thesaurus that any spinner has. Every time you add a new word or phrase to the thesaurus, that word gets uploaded to the “group thesaurus” and downloaded to every user (after a few checks of course). The words are ranked by the number of times used, so you don’t get a bunch of garbage or misspelled words as the first selections (usually). The HUGE phase and word dictionary means that you can really churn out really well-spun articles fast and with a high unique percentage — two things that are really key to ensuring your spun articles actually get picked up by the SERPS and not deleted by nosy webmasters. As of now, there are over 1.3 MILLION words and phrases in The Best Spinner’s thesaurus.

Magic Article Rewriter does NOT have a crowd-sourced thesaurus. Until TBS, MAR was pretty much the best spinner on the market. But because the thesaurus is not crowd sourced, it’s only a fraction of the size of TBS’s. This really does make a difference when you actually go to spin the article.

What’s I also like about The Best Spinner is that the phrase-level thesaurus entries. Not only are there a lot of individual words, but there are a huge amount of “phrases” added. What do I mean?

For example, look at the following sentence: John wants to know how to get a lot of backlinks

If you spin only the words, there are a total of 11 words you can replace (John, wants, to, know, how, to, get, a, lot, of, backlinks). Now, if you look at phrases, you could replace each of these with something else:

John
wants
to know
how to get
a lot
of
backlinks

What the fuck am I talking about here? Well, basically, if you are able to replace phrases, it’s much easier (and faster) to spin an entire article — and quite often the spin makes a hell of a lot more sense than if you spin only at the word level. It certainly allows for a much more readable autospin.

Easy-to-Spin Interface

One of my favorite features is the actual Best Spinner Interface. It’s really easy to spin. Here’s what I like so much about the interface.

Ability to Identify Synonyms — you basically click a button and all the spinnable phrases get underlined. Once this happens, you simply click on the underlined word (or if you want to target the phrase, you high light the phrase or hit TAB) and the spin box pops up.

This makes it VERY easy to spin your article. The best way I’ve found is to just keep hitting TAB so you work your way through all the phrases.

Easy-Nested-Spin Interface

Nested spins can be your worst nightmare when you spin. It can be incredibly confusing to do a nested spin, not to mention time consuming.

What do I mean by nested spin? A nested spin is a two level or more spin. That is a spin within a spin or a spin within a spin within a spin, etc. You get the idea. Basically,  nested spin = a fucking pain in the ass.

The best spin makes it (somewhat) easy.

If you click on the picture above, you’ll see what I mean. There are is basically a “nested spin option” you can access with a click. This allows you to easy drill down into synonyms for nested spins. It can save a lot of time.

East Spin Interface (Alternative Way to Spin)

If spinning articles by clicking one-by-one on each word/phrase is not your thing, you can use the alternative “easy spin” spinning interface. I actually like this interface for spins that I’m really trying to make unique. Seems to be faster to use if you really want to spin almost every word in your article. For “quick” spins where you don’t spin every word/phrase, the regular spin option is probably faster.

The Auto Spin Option

This is probably everyone’s favorite option. You can basically automatically spin your article with the click of a button. Now I know this is not a unique feature — Magic Article Rewriter and other spinners allow you to do this — but The Best Spinner gives the best quality auto spins by far. There are a bunch of features you can tinker with such as making the spin more unique but lower quality or higher quality but less unique. You can also set options for whether to do a single level spin only or a specific level of nested spin (up to 5 deep). The quality degrades exponentially  for every additional depth you choose to spin automatically. Personally, I do a 0 level spin only since this gives you spun articles that are actually readable and may pass a webmaster visual inspection (especially if you clean it up just a bit).

I’m sure you guys, being internet marketers or SEO’s, can think of some powerful uses for this feature. The ability to generate pretty readable spins on the fly can push your backlinking efforts to a new level, if you use it carefully.

Other Features of Note

The three features I mentioned really make The Best Spinner a must-have program for every serious internet marketer or SEO. However there are a couple other cool features that are worth mentioning.

Copyscape Compatible

If you have a copyscape account, you add your account details and check your spins against copyscape directly in The Best Spinner to verify they are unique. This can prevent some unwelcome surprises later on. I myself have done some crappy spins only to find out some Pissed Off webmaster has sent some DMCA complaint against me for “stealing content.” Checking your spin with copyscape can prevent this type of problem.

Ability to Add Your Own Favorites

This basically allows you to make your own custom “synonym list.” For example, the more you use the program, the more you’ll find you add your own synonyms to the thesaurus to make spinning your own articles easier. TBS allows you  to specifically add these to a special list from which you can then choose to use with Auto Spinning. Very useful if you work with specific niche terms and add a lot of niche words — you can basically load up your niche article, load up that custom synonym list, and have the article spun using that set of words. This can save you a lot of time, but it’s only useful if you built up a big custom list (this takes time).

Sentence Paragraph Level Spinning Window

You can also easily spin full sentences and paragraphs as opposed to words by simply highlighting a full sentence or paragraph.

This allows you to rewrite paragraphs and sentences quickly. One thing this does interfere with is your ability to copy a portion of the spun text however. As soon as you highlight something (dragging the mouse over section while holding the button down, then releasing it) the window pops up. You can’t simply highlight something, right click, and select COPY from the resulting pop up like you can in any word processor. Not without having to close down the sentence popup window every single time.

What I Like About The Best Spinner

I love how the best spinner makes it easy to spin pretty much anything. The combination of the crowd-source thesaurus, the easy spin interface, and the powerful autospinning features make this spinner a few miles ahead of the competition. Really, there is no comparison. I’ve already gone into great detail in the previous section about the awesome features The Best Spinner has.

But here’s a quick list of what I like about The Best Spinner:

• It’s got a zillion options (many are actually useful)

• It’s Damn Easy and Intuitive to Use

• It’s Updated Like Every Week or two with New Features

What I Don’t Like About The Best Spinner

I’m grasping at straws here, I have to point out. There is really not to much to criticize. Ok, for the sake of completeness, I’ll I’ll give some dirt.

It Seems to Hang Up Once in a While

I’m not sure if this is just my computer + The Best Spinner or if this is a universal problem, but I do notice that TBS can crash once in a while. Fortunately the program Autosaves your work every few minutes, so it’s unlikely you will end up losing your spin. It’s still a good idea to save often though — I have lost a coupe spins before because the program hang up and I lost work. I often seem to get an exception error thrown once in a while too — this doesn’t close the program down, but it gets annoying after a while since it reoccurs. Again, this could just be a problem with my computer.

Copy Feature is Convoluted

One thing that really annoys me is that say you just want to copy a paragraph of the article you are spinning. You can highlight that section with no problem (just like you could in any word processor), but when you release the mouse button, you get a Sentence/Paragraph rewriter window that pops up. You then need to close this down, hit right click to open the popup menu with “copy” in it, then have that same damn window open up again which you must close before you can actually hit the copy button. Sounds convoluted? It is! This should be changed dammit! Why can’t you just highlight a paragraph, right click, and hit copy!

Identify All Synonym Button doesn’t underline EVERY word, only phrases + some words.

I notice that if you use this feature (and you will, always) that it’s mostly the phrases that get underlined. While this is good (makes it easy to spin, since spinning phrases is usually preferable to spinning words alone), it can be restrictive. There are a lot of single words that could be underlined. You can of course directly click on the word to open up the synonym box, but if you work like I do and basically only press TAB to select the underlined word/phrase in the article to spin, it can be annoying since many words don’t get underlined and you end up breaking the flow by manually having to click on the word. Not a killer, but still an annoyance.

It has a Yearly Fee

At 77 dollars a year, it’s not a killer, but it’s a fee you have to keep paying. Magic Article Rewriter, on the other hand, is 55 dollars and a one time fee. Is the program still worth buying? I’d say yes, but I still don’t like it. I guess the yearly fee keeps the developer working non-stop on the program though (which is apparent with all the weekly/bi monthly updates that seem to happen).

You Need to Be Connected to the Web to Use The Best Spinner

If your internet goes down or you are not connected to the web, you can’t use The Best Spinner. This is because the program requires you to log in and authenticate each time you load it. Most people have the web, but this is certainly an issue for some people — especially if you live abroad in a less-connected world than say Central Asia/Europe/NA.

Magic Article Rewriter Versus The Best Spinner

Ok so how does TBS actually stack against the competition — the only competition being Magic Article Rewriter? Let’s take a look.

Cost

The Best Spinner is 77 bucks a year (yes, every single year you pay 77 dollars). Magic Article Rewriter is a one time purchase of 55 dollars. MAR is the winner here. I’m not a big fan of subscription plans and even though I love TBS, it still irks me that I have to pay for the program again each new year.

Note that if you get the Magic Article Token database, you are going to pay another $37 dollars. This is basically an extra database of synonyms for MAR that almost doubles the size from 30k to around 50k total words. This makes pretty big difference as you have more words to select when you do your spinning and autospins are better. Note this brings the cost of Magic Article Rewriter from $55 to around $92 dollars. Compare that to TBS’s $77 dollars a year and the price is more in favor of TBS. However, you’ll have to make the same payment each year, so in the end MAR + Magic Token Database is a better “deal.”

Thesaurus Size

The Best Spinner has a crowd-sourced, continually updated ginormous thesaurus (over 1.3 million words/phrases as of now)

Magic Article Rewriter has only 30,000 words (plus 20k more if you buy the 20 dollar Magic Token Database)

TBS wins by a couple light years here. No question.

Interface

Both programs allow you to “tab” through each word. The Best Spinner’s method is better because you hit the Identify ALL Synonyms button and all the phrases and words get underlined. You then hit TAB to move through each phrase in the article to spin.

MAR doesn’t have an Underline Synonyms feature. When you hit TAB to iterate through the article, it ONLY selects words, not phrases like TBS does. You can manually highlight stuff and if you highlight a phrase, it’s possible that phrasal synonyms will pop up. However, this really can slow you down. TBS wins here again.

TBS has a combination of TEXT menu and icons. MAR only has icons. I find myself confused if using MAR sometimes about what buttons to hit — even the main ones like  SPIN and such. TBS has a better menu interface.

Connectivity

MAR wins here — you don’t need the web to use the program (you do have to validate the program once when you first get it which does require an internet connection but after that you don’t need the internet). TBS requires an internet connection to use. If you are say traveling abroad and want to work as an internet marketer, I would say MAR is the better choice in this case.

Program Updates

MAR has not been updated in close to a year. I think it’s safe to say that Alexander (the developer of Magic Article Rewriter) has abandoned updating the program in favor of his new Magic Submitter program which kind of combines MAR with an Article Submitter Program (think Magic Article Rewriter + Article Marketing Robot).

On the other hand, The Best Spinner program itself gets updated every couple weeks and shows no sign of slowing down. And every time you login, the thesaurus gets an update as well with the latest crowd-adds. TBS wins here hands down.

Autospinning Features

TBS has more autospin options and because of the massive thesaurus that includes lots of phrases, you get a way better autospin.

In fact, here’s a test:

The Best Spinner WORST Quality Auto Spin Option, 62% unique, 167 words

MAGIC ARTICLE REWRITER BEST Quality Auto Spin Option, 42% unique, 167 words

Now to be sure, MAR’s autospin is not bad. However,  I have purchased Magic Article Tokens addon (25 bucks extra and a separate purchase) which close to doubles the default thesaurus. So my autospin would be better than say the default Magic Article Writer autospin.

The Final Word

I’ve given probably THE BEST breakdown of The Best Spinner’s features on the web, so you should be well informed in making your decision. My personal recommendation is that The Best Spinner is a fantastic program. If you are the type of marketer or SEO that’s spins stuff, be it regularly or even once in a while, then The Best Spinner is worth buying, hands down. It will save you a LOT of time and make spinning easy.

I’ve done a lot of comparing of TBS against the next best spinning software on the market, Magic Article Rewriter. The Best Spinner wins in almost every category, but this doesn’t mean  that MAR is a load of crap — it’s just second best. If you absolutely detest the payment scheme (77 dollars per year), then MAR is the best choice for you.

If you are traveling around places like SE Asia or work as an internet marketer abroad somewhere with unstable internet connection, then MAR is probably a better choice since you don’t have to be connected to the web to use it. Really, there is room for having The Best Spinner and Magic Article Rewriter, but I suspect that most people will just opt for TBS. I only wish the developer actually continued to update MAR — if so, it might have really give TBS a real run for the money. Still, MAR is a good alternative option to TBS and one that works in your favor if money is a limitation or your internet connection is iffy.
