Article Marketing Robot Review

Share
Tweet

There’s a ton of different article submission programs out there right now. No surprise there’s a lot of confusion as to what’s the best article submitter. Now I’ve already reviewed Article Demon by Edwinsoft. There are a few more article submitters on the block as well such as Magic Article Submitter, Magic Submitter, and the subject of this review: Article Marketing Robot.

Let me put this out there right now: Article Marketing Robot is my current favorite Article Submitter. It’s actually not “new” by any means, but it still offers the best for your buck, despite other article directory submitters. In terms of raw features, it’s not as powerful as say Article Demon and it doesn’t have the flexibility that Magic Submitter (which is a pay per month service) has. But, but, but, it’s a very quick, no-frills article submitter that offers some of the best bang for the buck out there.

Make no mistake, if you are looking for the “quickest” article submitter and the cheapest, Article Marketing Robot wins hands down – even against Article Demon.

This article will be a part Article Marketing Robot review and a part Article Marketing Robot vs. Article Demon comparison. If you want more information about Article Demon, which despite my knocking on it here a bit, is also a fine program, you can read my Article Demon review.

Ok, let’s take a quick look at the (main) feature set offered by Article Marketing Robot:

  • 2000+ article directories
  • Ability to add new directories
  • Ability to post articles to your own wordpress blogs
  • Ability to schedule submissions (staggered)
  • Support for Decaptcher and Death by Capatcha “crowdsource capatcha solving”
  • Built in Spinner

What’s Better Than The Competition

Now many of these features are actually pretty standard when it comes to article submitters. However, there are a few key features that Article Marketing Robot does better than the other submitters. This is basically the Article Demon versus Article Marketing Robot section of the review, since most of you want to know how AMR stacks up to Article Demon.

2000 Directories

I will say that right out of the box, Article Marketing Robot comes with close to 2000 directories. Article Demon when it was first released back in October 2010, came with 100. Since then there have been a few hundred “bonus” directories released with Article Demon that brings up the count to around 500 directories. Still, 500 versus 2000? Article Marketing Robot wins again here. I also used to use the old Magic Article Submitter (the precurser to Magic Submitter) which only had around 1500 directories. However, if you are willing to put together your own list, see the next point as this won’t be a game breaker for either Article Demon or Article Marketing Robot.

Ability to Add Your Own Directories

Both Article Demon and Article Marketing Robot allow you to add your own directories. This makes both software programs pretty powerful. If you know how to put together your own “custom” directory list, you can increase your backlinking ability immensely. Between the two programs, I do say that it’s easier to add your own directories with Article Demon than Article Marketing Robot. AMR forces only allows you to “paste in” around 600 directories at once (you can keep on adding new ones after it checks that batch, however) per batch while Article Demon allows you to paste in 8,000 directories per batch to be checked for compatible directories (with the compatible ones being added to your directory list). These are by no mean gamebreakers for either software programs, it’s just a bit more painful to add your own directories to AMR than it is with AD, especially if you want to add thousands of them.

Ability to post articles to your own wordpress blogs

AMR allows you to post articles to your own wordpress blogs. This is pretty powerful as you can basically set up your own self hosted wordpress blog farm. I suspect that most of you won’t bother with this feature, but there are some uses here. As far as I’m aware, this is a unique feature to Article Marketing Robot. Used right, it can be powerful.

Ability to schedule submissions (staggered)

The scheduler is basically a must-have feature that allows you to “queue up” your every article submission, if you so choose. Why? Because if you bomb your site with too many submissions right away, especially if it’s a new domain, you might get your site penalized. Now there are many debates about this, but I’ve seen it first hand multiple times. Those penalties can last a short time or a long time, but either way, it’s a pain in the ass when it happens. Google has a tendency to start discounting links to new domains if you get too many of them in a short period of time. I’m not saying you can’t blast a site with lots of links at once (say your site goes viral), but hitting your site with the SAME type of low authority links like article directory links or profile links can hurt more than help. This has to do with link velocity — a topic I’ll discuss at another time.

Anyways, back to the submission process with Article Marketing Robot. You can choose between 1 to 100 submissions per day. Article Marketing Robot will submit to that specified number of directories each day. Article Marketing Robot’s schedueler is WAAAAY better than the one present in Article Demon which is just plain annoying (and confusing to use).

Built In Spinner

This is actually a pretty standard feature with Article Submitters now. Article Demon, for example, comes with a pretty good article spinner. Personally, it’s I don’t care about this the in-program spinning. I do all mine with The Best Spinner, which is lightyears ahead of any spinning offered by either program. In fact, if you don’t have The Best Spinner and you intend to do article directory submissions, you should look at getting it. It will rock your world, for real.

I will say that the new version of AMR (which at time of writing is still beta), offers some unique spinning features. There is basically a special URL spinning addon and keyword spinning addon that make it easy to create your resource boxes. Article Demon doesn’t have that.

What’s Great About Article Marketing Robot

It’s FAST

There’s a lot to love about this program. First and foremost, it’s FAST to submit. It literally takes you only 2-3 minutes to start submitting an article. That is assuming you’ve created an author account (a onetime process for each account you make) and verified it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how easy and fast it is to start submitting an article. Beacause of this, you’ll likely use the program all the time. How does the speed compare to Article Demon? Think of it this way: if Article Demon is a car, Article Marketing Robot is a racing motorbike. One of my biggest complaints with Article Demon was/is just how slow it takes to start submitting. First you need to create the article (a tedious process) itself which involves like 5 steps. Then you add the article to a submission queue. Then you need to go to another area to start the submission process. Way too long. With Article Market Robot, simply toss in a spun article, add the categories and the links, and hit submit. And that’s all there is too it.

It’s not just the “getting the article ready for submission process” that’s fast – the actual article submission is pretty quick.  AMR is multithreaded, and you can have an absurd amount of threads if you so choose which can make submitting to a few thousand directories only a couple minute affair. Article Demon, on the other hand, takes a loooong time. I have around 2800 directories I submit to with Article Demon and it takes me a good 30 minutes just to finish submitting the articles. With AMR, it’s less than half the time.

It’s CHEAP(er) to Buy Than Article Demon

Yup, if cost if your concern, Article Marketing Robot wins again. The cost is $79.95. Compare this to Article Demon which comes in a $127. For the functionality that Article Marketing Robot offers, the price is a steal really.

It’s Cheaper to Use with Capatcha Outsourcing Services

Article Marketing Robot gives you the choice of either Decaptcher or Death by Captcha. Decaptcher charges 2 dollars per 1000 capatcha’s solved while Death by Capatcha is 1.39 per 1000 solved.  Article Demon supports Decaptcher, but they add a bit another 2 dollars on top of that. So if you use Article Demon, you are going to pay 4 dollars per 1000 capatcha’s solved. That means the Edwinsoft guys are making an extra 2 dollars for every 2 dollars you spend on outsourcing capatchas! This makes it expensive to use Article Demon and cheap to use Article Marketing Robot.

Comes with a Lot of Directories out of the box

With about 2000 directories right out of the box, Article Marketing Robot is “more powerful” than Article Demon. Now all things being equal, you can add your own directories to both programs. However, Article Marketing Robot supports more directory scripts than does Article Demon. That means you can, ultimately, have more directories added to Article Marketing Robot than Article Demon. I have around 2900 directories added to Article Demon and I have close to 4500 directories added to Article Marketing Robot.

It Supports More Directory Scripts than Article Demon

Article Demon supports Article Beach, WordPress Articles, Article MS, and Article Dashboard. However, Article Marketing Robot supports a few more. This means that you can ultimately put together a bigger directory list with AMR than you can with AD — at least until AD adds more directory script support.

What’s Not So Great About Article Marketing Robot

Not everything is all peachy with Article Marketing Robot. Let’s discuss what I don’t like about the program

The Interface is Ugly as Sin

Ok, AMR looks like it was hit a couple times with the ugly stick. Compared to the sleek, professional interface present in Article Demon, AMR looks amateur. Having said that, the interface present is easy to understand and efficient. It’s not pretty, but it gets the job done.

No Private Proxy Support

Ok, this is a HUGE con in my book, and for some people it’s a game changer. If it wasn’t for this feature, I would hands down recommend Article Marketing Robot over Article Demon. As it is, there is no proxy support present in Article Marketing Robot. For the power users, this is bad news indeed. Why? Because if you submit too many articles to directories of a short period of time, you’ll get your IP banned. Now this won’t be a problem if you just use the program casually. But if you are a power user and are going to be flinging out mass amounts of articles every day, you’re going to find your successful submission decrease and decrease as more and more directories ban your IP. Hopefully, the developer will add this in. As it is, if you are a serious power user and you have more money to burn for capatcha solving, you might want to opt for Article Demon because of this.

Conclusion

As I’ve stated at the top of this Article Marketing review, Article Marketing Robot is my favorite article submission program. It’s better in almost every way than Article Demon. I confess, when Article Demon first came out, I was really impressed and concluded that it was better than Article Marketing Robot. That is, until I began to use it regularly. I found after a couple weeks of using Article Demon, I was getting annoyed at how slow the whole submission process was (which was making me NOT use the program as much as I could have) and I didn’t like how expensive the capatcha solving was – double the price of Article Marketing Robot. Those two features turned me back to Article Marketing Robot.

So what’s better, Article Marketing Robot or Article Demon. Really, I can’t actually answer that question for you. I feel Article Marketing Robot with a 50 dollar cheaper price tag, capatcha services that are 50% cheaper than Article Demon’s, and with more directory script compatibility, Article Marketing Robot is the better buy. However, the lack of proxy support is a huge killer. I actually have both Article Demon and Article Marketing Robot, but 2 months since Article Demon’s release and I pretty much use Article Marketing Robot exclusively now.

Get Article Demon if:

  • You don’t mind taking more time for your submissions
  • You want a cleaner interface
  • You need private proxy support
  • You want better link checking (Article Demon gives a much better means of checking to see what links have been posted, AMR’s version of this is kind of clunky due to the interface)
  • You want guaranteed reliable updates for years to come

Get Article Marketing Robot if:

  • You want to save 50 dollars
  • You want to save over 50% on capatcha outsourcing costs
  • You want the directories right out of the box (you don’t want to put your own custom list together)
  • You want the most directory script support (you can have the “most” directories)
  • You want to quickly submit articles
  • You don’t mind not being able to use proxies directly

So there we go, my Article Marketing Robot review; if you are on a budget and you want to quickly fire out article submissions, then get Article Marketing Robot. On a whole, it’s a much better value than Article Demon (or any of the other alternatives out there) right now.

If you liked my review of AMR, consider buying Article Marketing Robot through my link. As my thanks, I’ll give you my own custom directory list that will bring your total Article Marketing Robot directory list to almost 4400 directories — that’s over DOUBLE the size of the list that comes with with the program. Just contact me once you buy the product and give me your name, payment type, time of purchase, and clickbank receipt number so I can verify you did purchase it through my link. If you already have the program and just want the list, I’ll sell it for 15 bucks (contact me).

Happy backlinking,

Hi,

Thanks for this great review. I have a newbie question here, so pardon my ignorance. Regarding the issue with lack of proxy support, I’m assuming you meant that you could run into problems when your IP address gets banned from submitting articles. So, your IP address should be assigned by your ISP correct? Does that mean that one could sidestep this whole issue by doing the article submission when you are connected thru a different provider? I am wondering if I could just go down to the local library or Starbucks and do the whole batch of submission thru their WiFi and totally avoid this issue.

Thanks,

Ed

Yes, your IP is assigned by your ISP. If you are on broadband, you usually have a static IP — one that does not change. If you have a modem connection (who does anymore), your IP changes each time you connect to the web. You can change your static IP by unplugging your router for a few minutes. That only works sometimes.

Yes, you can “sidestep” the issue if you have another ISP, or you change the IP — such as logging in from a starbucks. Keep in mind that if you keep on doing article submissions from the same IP of any sort, your submission success rate will drop. I’m hoping the dev will specifically add private proxy support so this issue can be avoided.

My recommendation (in general — this won’t apply to AMR specifically) for using automated link building programs is to use public proxies (you can scrape em from the web — though many public proxies end up on ban lists) or go to yourprivateproxy.com and just get 5-10 private proxies to use.

I’m still on the fence in regards to article submissions as to their ability to get you backlinks that add to your search engine rankings. Article directory submission is great to obtain more online visitors, but if your goal is to increase ranking, I’m doubting it.

Any comments

I disagree with Article Submissions actually getting you any real traffic. Frankly, most of the article directories (especially those of the Article Demon/Article Marketing Robot kind) are pure and utter shit in terms of quality. Almost NO one is going to read your submission and come visit your site. Why? Because most of those articles you submit will never actually rank for anything.

There are only a few exceptions and those are the top tier Article Directories like EzineArticles, GoArticles, Hubpages (not really an article directory), and so on. These manual submission directories might actually rank and drive some traffic via the links you put in. Note that Google has really punted the whole User Generated Content Web 2.0/Article Directories with the whole Panda updates, so they don’t rank half as well as they used to.

For links, yes, you can get a *few* backlinks. Anyone who promises a few runs of Article Marketing Robot will get you hundreds of links and shoot you up through the SERPS is full of bullshit though. Likely a run of 2000-5000 directories might yield you 30-50 “links” after 3-5 months. Not much, but maybe enough to get a bit of link juice. Really, these things are really only good for backing up your support web 2.0′s or support sites. You can do a few runs on your money site, but don’t expect miracle rankings to result from it — especially in any niche with a modicum of competition. For very low comp niches, then yes you can see some results in the SERPS. But you can increase your “link count”

I have both Article Demon and Article Marketing Robot. Between the two, I only use Article Marketing Robot since it’s so much easier to submit with and faster. I use it once in a while to pump up some support sites, but there is no way I’d do a couple runs on a money site and expect any sort of spectacular results.

    Hope that clarifies.

With AMR if you use the VPN of HMA Proxies won’t that prevent IP bans as long as you rotate your IP frequently?

I recently bought AMR through Spider’s link so I could the free “custom directory list” he promised upon purchase. However, after two emails requesting my free list I am still waiting for it. I am really disappointed as I was really looking forward to expanding my directory list.

Hi Suzy, I didn’t get your email or see it (i took a good look again through the emails but see no email from you). I’m usually pretty good at monitoring requests for the directory list. Could you resend your email?
