Article Demon Review

Yes, yet another Article Demon Review. Now first off, this is not another “one” of those reviews prevalent on the web.

First, yes, I want your commission. An no, I’m not going to lie to get it. This is an honest review written by an Internet Marketer who first and foremost USES the product reviews. No fake review here.

Ok, now that we’ve got the disclaimer out of the way, let’s get to business. Article Demon.

My Initial Impressions

First off, I’ve only been using this program for a few days now (it was released October 27th). I have to say I like this program a lot. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but initial impressions are good. I’ve been using this to blast a bunch of my sites and the program has been running pretty smoothly so far. There is a bit of a process to follow before you actually get to the “submission” and the process can take you a few minutes to complete. However, compared to other similar programs such as Article Marketing Robot and Magic Article Rewriter, the interface clearly wins both the beauty and easy-to-use award.

Ok, so what’s under the hood?

Article Demon Feature List

* Create and verify accounts
* Default 100 directories
* Ability to add new directories (Article Friendy, ArticleDashboard, WordPress,)
* Ability to schedule article submissions
* Build in article spinner
* Supports Visual Aid (capatcha solver), poxies, and multi-threaded submissions
* Can check for posted articles

To be honest, this feature set is pretty standard when it comes to article directory submission software. What’s nice is the support for proxies, multiple capatcha solver services, and the ability to add new directories to the mix. The ability to check to see if the article has been successfully submitted is pretty useful – savvy SEO’s should be doing this.

Using the Program

So first off, the interface is pretty smooth. I’ve noticed that most internet marketing software looks like it was put together by a couple of colorblind teenagers who read an EzineArticle tutorial on how to design UI for dummies. Basically, most of the software I’ve used look like Sh*t.

Article Demon borrows a few pages (and then some) from Bookmarking Demon – no surprise there since it’s made from the same developer.

The interface looks good. Here’s let’s compare Article Marketing Robot and Article Demon side-by-side:

As you can see, one is uglier than my step sister and the other looks like Megan Fox. Can you guess which one’s the ugly? Yup, Article Marketing Robot was hit a few times on the head with the ugly stick by the developer.

Now, the “look” of Article Demon aside, just how does the software perform? Well, I submitted 5 articles yesterday to 700 directories each. To set up the submission takes some time, I’d say a good 5 – 7 minutes, assuming you already have your spun article, intro paragraph, resource box, and title ready to go.

What about using the program? Well when you first start off, you need to create accounts on all the sites. With the default 100 directories, this shouldn’t take a long time. But if you end up with say 1500 directories, you could be looking at a while, especially when you factor in typing capatchas. I’d say you’re looking at 20 minutes for the default 100 directories. With 1000+ directories, you are going to spend hours entering capatchas. I didn’t want to bother with that and just used the Visual Aid service to solve them for me. For 1500 accounts, it took about 30 minutes per account, from creation to activation.

So, expect to spend some serious “setting up time” with Article Demon to create the accounts.

Once you create the accounts, the general process for an article submission is this:

  1. Add Article (10 minutes, assuming you have spun article title, intro, body, resource box ready).
  2. Add article to queue (5 minutes, depending on how many directories you have)
  3. Submit Article (depends on how many directories and articles you have )

I ended up submitting 4 articles to something like 700 directories each in one submission. With Visual Service enabled, this took about 45 minutes to an hour. So unless you only have a couple directories, it will take time to do the submissions. Of course, if you did the submissions manually…och.

What I liked About Article Demon

Easy To Use Interface

As I’ve stated, the interface was pretty darn slick – especially compared to the monstrous interface of Article Marketing Robot It’s pretty easy to switch between the different functionalities of the program. The program was clearly designed with the user in mind. I had a couple complaints, which I’ll discuss in the next section

Ability to Add Directories

You have to ability to add your own directories to the default list, as long as they are of the following type: Article MS, Article Friendly, Article Dashboard, Article Beach and WordPress Articles. Needless to day, as soon as you get this program, don’t waste time with the default 100 included directories. Build your own list. You should be able to get it up to 1000 directories at least. The more directories you add to the program, the more powerful your linking resources.

Excellent Support

I’ve had Bookmarking Demon for a few years now and it’s been consistently upgraded over the years. Edwinsoft has a proven record for providing free (big) upgrades and new features keep getting added to their products. So you can rest easy knowing they’ll probably be addressing a lot of the issues and improving the program as time goes by.

Scheduled Article Submissions

Article Demon includes the ability for you to schedule your submissions and even drip them out daily. This is a very useful feature; if you’ve done any sort of SEO work, you know the importance of not slamming your sites with too many links.

Ability to Check for Published Posts

Another feature I really found useful was the ability to check how many posts are published. One of my complaints with some of the competition software is that after you use the program to submit to 100’s of directories, you don’t really know what’s getting through and what’s not. With Article Demon, you can specifically check the status of every submission. It’s a pretty nifty features that you should take advantage of. I personally check to find what posts have been submitted, then run a host of automated boomarking, rss, and comment spam to each one to ensure it gets indexed and to increase the linking power.

Synonym Harvester

So Article Demon has a built in spinner. As spinners go, it’s not half bad. For those who use it (I don’t), you have the ability to harvest new synonyms from your spun articles (or from imported articles); the harvested synonyms are then added to your synonym database, which should give you more word choice options when you spin. This is actually a pretty neat feature. Personally, I use The Best Spinner which is hands down better than any other spinner on the market, including Article Demon’s. But if you intend to use this feature, then this feature will definitely come in handy.

Support For Private Proxies

This is big big big if you plan to completely automate your submissions. What most of these article submission programs don’t tell you on the sales pitch is that even though you “automate” the whole submission process, it’s actually not really automated. You still need to enter damn capatchas all day long. Almost every article directory requires a captcha to be entered for account creation or article submissions. Imagine submitting 10 articles to 1000 directories…you’d be entering 5-10k captachas.

I personally recommend YourPrivateProxy if you are looking for a recommendation for private proxies specifically for internet marketing/seo activities.

You can outsource this with Visual Aid, but it can get expensive.

Visual Aid Support

The ability to outsource captchas makes this program truly automatic. However, you have to pay for the privilege.

It Works

The program does what it says it can do: saves you a shitload of time. I’ve probably done about 15 submissions so far and I have been pleased with the performance of the program. My spun articles have been submitted to hundreds of directories without problem – many of them have actually been posted (I used the Published? feature to check).

What I Didn’t Like

There were some things I definitely did NOT like about Article Demon.

Confusing Scheduling System

I found the scheduling system confusing. While the basic account creation, article creation and submission process is pretty clear, due to the way the menus are laid out (you work your way from left menu to right menu to complete the whole article submission process), I found trying to schedule the article submissions kind of confusing. For one, the Schedule menu is at the far right. And, if you want to schedule an article, you need to add an article to the submission queue THEN skip over to the Scheduling menu and add a new schedule for that submission. Even more confusing, the scheduling is only followed if you submit articles from the Scheduler area and NOT the regular Submit menu.

I actually had 4 articles queued up to drip out as 40 submissions per day for each of the articles for the next two months. Afterwards, I added a new article to the project and tried to submit that article to all 1500 directories at once. But the submission ended up submitting ALL my articles, even my scheduled articles . So now sites that I don’t want blasted with 1500 article submissions are getting those.

Sound confusing? It is. Maybe there is something I’m missing, but as of yet, I find the whole schedueling pretty confusing. It’s easy to mess up big time.

The Price

Article Demon costs $127 dollars. This is pretty price. I know there is a trend for internet marketing software to run from 100 to 300 dollars, but I think most of it is highly overpriced. What makes this even more glaringly expensive is that the competing programs are priced at about HALF the cost of Article Demon. I suppose when you factor in their free lifetime upgrades on the program, the price makes a bit more sense.

Only Includes 100 directories [update -- 500 directories now]

Ok, this is kind of a joke. Article Marketing Robot supports 1700 2000 directories right out of the box. It’s laughable that Article Demon only includes a paltry 500 directories. Article directory submissions don’t count for too much backlink power individually – you need a lot of them to move up in the serps. Now, normally I would say don’t buy Article Demon because of this tremendously limiting fact. However, Article Demon allows you to add your own directories. So if you put some work into building up your own article directory list, this is a moot point. I personally have close to 1900 3000 directories now. It should be noted that while Article Marketing Robot comes with 1700 directories, it does not allow you to add your own [update: yes it does]. So in my estimation, this makes Article Demon far more powerful – you can easily add up a 3-5k strong list of directories to submit articles to.

Only Supports 5 Directory Types

The 5 supported directories are the most common, but it would be nice if the program supported more. I expect this will be addressed in future updates.

Visual Aid is Expensive

For those who want to use Visual Aid to outsource capatchas, Edwinsoft charges 4 dollars per 1000 capatchas solved. Considering that you only pay 2 dollars per 1000 from decaptcher.com, it kind of irks me that these guys are making 2 bucks per every 1000 capatchas solved via Visual Aid. This can really aid up in a big way, especially if you start submitting to 1000’s of directories. I don’t mind Edwinsoft making a bit of profit, but considering that you pay $127 bucks for the software THEN end up paying double to use capatcha solving, I call foul.

My Conclusion

So the big question is should you buy Article Demon? My answer is, “it depends.” The next best option is Article Marketing Robot.

You should Buy Article Demon if…

  • You want an easy-to-use interface
  • You use (and like) Bookmarking Demon
  • You are willing to put together your own list of directories
  • You don’t have a spinner
  • You want private proxy support

Buy Article Marketing Robot if…

  • You want maximum backinking power right out of the box (comes with 2000 directories)
  • You don’t mind fiddling with an ugly, hard-to-use interface
  • You spin your articles elsewhere
  • You want the cheapest option (50 dollars cheaper to buy over article demon)
  • You want to save money on outsourcing capatchas (Article Marketing Robot is half the price)

Article Demon has a better interface and is far easier to use. It also includes much more comprehensive reporting features – you know exactly what’s going on, what’s been submitted, where everything’s been submitted, how many failures have occurred, etc. It is also more powerful than the competition because you can add your own directories. Straight out of the box (or hot off the download?), it’s less powerful than Article Marketing Demon because it lacks support for as many different types of directories and only comes with 100 as opposed to 1700. However, if you put together your list, you can easily add 1000-3000 directories, making up for the fact that Article Marketing Robot has more directories up front. The support for private proxies as makes this program friendly for the “hard core user.”

Both Article Demon and Article Marketing Robot offer features that the other does not have – so there is room for both on the market as of now.

One more thing to mention. Article Marketing Robot is MUCH faster to start submitting with than Article Demon. You basically put in the spun article then submit. It takes 30 seconds to start submitting. With Article Demon, you need to Add the article (takes 3 minutes), then you need to add the article to the submission queue (takes 3-5 minutes to process), then you need to do the actual submitting (to submit to about 1000 directories, give yourself 20-30 minutes). So the entire process is going to take you a good 30-40 minutes from start to finish. Now, you can add up multiple articles to the queue and whatnot. So for quick and dirty article submits, Article Marketing Robot wins hands down.

Overall, I’d say Article Demon is a “better built” program than the competition and based on Edwinsoft’s reputation with their other software products, will continue to be improved on for years to come. It looks snazzy, offers the best reporting features, and has private proxy support.

As a power user, I like the ability to use private proxies and add my own articles. If you can afford it, Article Demon is a better program, though, as I said, you’ll have to get your own directories. If you don’t have the money AND you are not a power user who cares about blasting a ton of articles out there everyday, then Article Marketing Robot is recommended.

If you’ve found my review helpful, why not support this site by buying Article Demon through my link! I’ll also toss you my 1849 3000 strong article directory as my thank you (just contact me once you buy the product and give me your name, payment type, time of purchase, and clickbank receipt number so I can verify you did purchase it through my link).

If you liked  this post, read my post on Article Demon Strategies for how to use the program effectively.

Note, I’ve also done an Article Marketing Robot review as well, so you might want to read that one before making any buying decision between the two.

Nice review good to see someone point all the cons as well as the pros.

Never tried Article Marketing Robot used to use Article Post Robot but David stopped giving reliable support so I stopped recommending it to others.

happy I kept reading, cause at first I though – o no, another fake review ! I am hesitating between the 2, but still wondering, why are’nt people comparing these 2 to Magic Article Submitter too ? MAS has been there forever (in marketing years, anyway) and has all those features too. It even tells gives you a list of urls that you can check “live” if your article is still there.

I’ve yet to review the program, helena, at least officially. I do like Alexander’s programs (magic article rewriter and magic article submitter). I’ve used it but I still prefer AMR as the best of the bunch. But I’ll see if I can post a review of it.

Hey man, I’ve decided to buy Article demon, and to show my appreciation, I’m going to buy it through your link. I was wondering if you would be kind enough to give me your article directory list. It would really save me a lot of time and work.

Hey Mate, I appreciate your NS review and will be buying it through your well deserved link soon – just wanted to check:
A:) is the spinner easy to use and any good?
B:) it comes with the standard directories like Ezine and all the other main ones?

I am only really interested in a software that enables me to create multiple accounts on the 20 or so major article directories and then spin and post my content to them.

I have no interest in adding thousands of directories, especially post panda – so I guess what I am asking is, is this the software for me?

Thanks mate – I appreciate your honest review and look forward to your response.

A — No, I don’t like AD’s Spinner. Pay the money and get The Best Spinner — it will save you a LOT of time spinning

B — I believe Ezines and some of the big article directories like Go Articles are there. There is no way EzineArticles will accept your spun content though (they will absolutely reject articles that even sniff of spun content).

Alex, AD can be useful as an overall backlinking strategy for support sites. I will tell you right now, if you’ve got dreams of using AD to blast your money site to the top of the serps for competative keywords, forget about it. Those days are over. I do feel it’s worth tossing in AD runs for support sites which link to your main site, however. So yes, there is STILL use for it. It’s just not a game changer.

also – do I need a VPN client seperately or does Article Demon have one built in? I assume it must if it can create multiple accounts?

You just need proxies. YourPrivateProxy.com is one I recommend. You can pick up 10 proxies for like 30 bucks a month. You can then use those proxies with AD. As for a VPN, you don’t need to go that far — private proxies are fine and AD supports them.

I honestly appreciate the feedback – still going to get this and have a play – ()cant help myself)
I agree with your take on Ezine too btw – in fact I think they’re a bunch of Article Nazis to be honest LOL
For me its about automating the process of submitting articles from mutiple accounts, probably not even going to spin them at all – just get even more articles outsourced!!

Anyway, you’re a champ for the honest review – have an awesome year!

To be honest, I am not impressed with Article Demon. The failure rate for account creation is higher than it should be and you have to make multiple attempts for nearly every process. This should not be the case especially when there was a recent update. Then the pen name creation failure rate is high and on top of that, submission failure rates are high. I have manually posted the exact same articles I tried to post with AD and they were accepted so it is not my articles that is the problem, it is the software. When you are signed up to almost 500 accounts, and are only able to submit an article to around 200 of them and of that number only 43 are published, it does not live up to its hype at all.

I hands down prefer Article Marketing Robot over Article Demon. I find it’s just way easier to use. The interface is less sophisticated, but way faster to submit. Some people trust the Edwinsoft brand. I have both, but it’s AMR that gets used.
